Some Year End Thoughts

2015 has been a momentous year for Ever-so. Back in July we rebranded the site to Essili which was a sad moment for everyone who had worked on the original site from the beginning in 2006 and seen how it had grown and established itself as a great place to shop on line. But we knew we were restricted by the name and had to change it to something more brandable. So Essili was born.

We had done our homework about what to do and not do when changing a site name and although we did all the "right things" we did not expect it to be a change without pain. Search ranking can be a fragile thing an even slight changes can impact positions adversely. So we did plan for some reduction in traffic and rankings. Which proved to be sensible as we had a very quiet August. Six months on we can now report that there was an initial drop but we have been seeing steady growth as the rankings improve month on month.

So are we pleased we changed our name?  You bet we are! For a start we have seen a 100% drop in dubious telephone calls, usually from men who had not looked past the site name and did not understand that we sold lingerie and nothing else! But that is just a small bonus in comparison to the memorable and user friendly brand name we now have which provides a foundation to build the site into the go to place to buy lingerie and underwear of all types not to mention the luxury nightwear and swimwear. Who knows we might even expand into other product types!

As 2015 draws to a close we are planning for an exciting 2016 (but we promise no more name changes) but there will be more customer choice than ever before. Plus possibly some changes to the site. So its well worth keeping an eye on us.
